Like most prospective policy analysts, my dream job would be to work in DC, specifically the White House or Capitol Hill. But those jobs are some of the most competitive and coveted in the world. Setting yourself apart is a lot easier said than done. A candidate has to be truly exceptional to get through the multiple levels of assessment and interviews that test the skills and abilities of the applicants.. Thousands of candidates apply for various positions associated with the day-to-day working of various departments in the White House. With all that said, “Want to Work in the White House?” laid out the steps to success pretty easily. After reading this article, I came to the realization that I definitely do not want to work at the Capitol. I realized a government position may not be for me either. I'm unsure where this realization is going to take me.
