This week was not packed with assignments as we focused on securing interviews. After

last week’s extensive practice, I decided that I was finally comfortable enough to initiate

the contact-via-phone process. However, before that, I made several changes to my

contact list after conversing with many familiar professionals within my existing network

and gaining their insight as well as recommendations. I completed my first round of

calling and second round of emails, most of which ended with a message being left for

the professional; this means that soon, I will be conducting the interviews that I have, for

so long, anxiously and excitedly awaited. During the first half of the week, I became

increasingly frustrated due to the lack of responses. When two professionals finally

replied, I was very excited to have the opportunity to interview someone. The scheduling

for the first interview was very rushed due to the professionals busy schedule, and I didn't

have much time to prepare but it was still successful. The interview I had with the civil

rights lawyer was informative and taught me a lot about the various opportunities in this

field and the dedication required to succeed in it. As soon as the interview ended, I also

made sure to send a thank you note to the professional. I am thoroughly looking forward

to this new experience and cannot wait to see what the future holds for me.
